It is 2 years since our journal was taken over by an international publisher. This step proved to be landmark success to the Saudi Journal of Sports Medicine. The journal went online and accordingly it has advertised itself worldwide in the internet. Its population of supporters both authors, as well as reviewers, swelled markedly. We are now receiving submissions from a much wider collection of researchers representing broader subsections of sports medicine. With the support of the publisher, we expanded the number of pages to just over 100 to accommodate and with little delay the publication of accepted manuscripts. Although this step helped to reduce the backlog of manuscripts waiting for the release, the problem of the backlog continued. So we increased the number of published issues of the journal from 2 to 3 per year, commencing January 2015.
To the Editorial Board and its sponsors, the Saudi Sports Medicine Federation, this represents significant markers of success. Our mission does not end here as further effort will be made to split the published articles into subsections to make it easier for the interested readers the identification of articles that fall within their area of research and/or professional interest.
To all those who supported the Saudi Journal of Sports Medicine, we say, "thank you" and with our best wishes for the new year.
God bless all.
